possibly SCURVY which is a disease caused by deficiency of vitamin C, characterized by spongy and bleeding gums, bleeding under the skin, and extreme weakness. u gave no other symptoms--im assuming there was no other hamster so it wasn't from a fight. if u didnt give it stuff for gnawing, the teeth couldve grown so large that they caused a bleeding nose & mouth. maybe it was allergic to the bedding---never use pine or cedar.

sorry for your loss. and sorry for all the stupid answers. im assuming u wanted a real answer.
