Ok, you want sleeping bags, bug spray, one of those propane stoves to cook on (that's not very tech -- you can grill out with charcoal if you prefer), an iron skillet for cooking, bring along lots of drinks (esp water), maybe some pancake mix (that won't spoil), some marshmallows, some soup mix or can soup that won't spoil, and a chest with your cold stuff.. maybe some hot dogs, hamburger patties, cheese, buns, bacon, etc. What you need depends on how long you are staying, too. OH, dont forget matches. If you're getting near water, bring some fishing gear. That's about it. Have fun!!!

i visit respond to your question heavily, definite there are camps that manage "skills" the form of song camps, appearing camps, or dancing camps. yet "skills" camps have a tendency to be on the more effective extreme priced end of the camp spectrum even as going to camp in uncomplicated words is a somewhat hefty cost to pay. yet opportunities are extreme you gained't come across a camp it really is like Camp Rock because it likely did not keep on with what maximum camps are like.

Try the West Coast Trail in British Columbia (Canada).

You have to be in pretty good shape to make the hiking, but it is famed for its beauty and is a 'real' camping experience.

Oh, and bring waterproof matches!

my family and I go camping at least everyother week during the summer months, we usually just go out on the lake, find an island and pitch a tent. we fish, play card, cook over the fire, swim, go hiking or just lay back and take in nature. my son's 10 and he likes to bring things like balloons and fills them with water , water balloon fights. take a camera and take photos of the beautiful thing around you.

Pre-prepare food so all you have to do is warm it up. Then freeze it and put it in ziplock bags in your cooler. You need less ice that way and food stays good longer.

Get an airmattress for under your sleeping bag. You'll hate being on the hard earth.

Don't camp in a low area that could get flooded if it rains..Hang your food WAY up in a tree to keep the bears from it..Bug repellant..Matches..Flashlight..Waterproof outfit..First aid kit
