My little sis and I are getting tattooed for the first time on her birthday. We are getting the chinese characters for older sister (me) and younger sister (her). I was alos thinking it would look really cool to have our shinese zodiac animals next to them or wrapped around. Mine is a tiger and hers is a dragon. I think this would look great but I can't find any good links with a large selection. Also, we were thinking about getting it don on the front of our left shoulder or inside of our left wrist. Which hurts less or which do you reccomend? Any other comments and links are welcome.

The tattoos will be relatively small and in an easily covered area. We have both been thinking about this for a while so you won't convince me otherwise.

Keep this in mind when getting a tattoo, the more bone or muscle in the area, the more "pain" their is going to be. Granted, EVERY tattoo is going to hurt, don't let anyone kid you. lol but it intensifies with bone and muscle. the shoulder is mainly muscle and the wrist is bone and on the inside of the wrist is very thin skin too. Sorry i could'nt answer about a site because i usually have all of mine done freehand .

I would get it on your shoulder, as that would be much easier to cover up, and it would hurt less as well. The less flesh, the more pain.
I would lose the idea of the zodiac symbols and perhaps pick something a little more personal. I like the idea of a tattoo, something that means so much that you want to wear it for your entire life, and yet I don't think that people put too much consideration into choosing what they want on their body. Choose, if anything, an animal or design that really means something to you, not just a zodiac sign. Perhaps the name of your sister would have more meaning than a Chinese character, esp. if you are not in fact, Chinese. Please consider all possibilities before taking the leap.

I've got 7 tattoos and love all of them. It might be best to go in to the tattoo shop and get a consultation. They can draw something for you. Yes, you'll pay a little more but this is going to be a permanent part of your body so you better really like it. And it'll be unique.

Any place that has less flesh is more painful. Remember that any tattoes you have done might not look the same after age and gravity have some time with your body.
I do have an acquaintance who put a butterfly on her chest, and it grew and sagged to the point where it was not obvious what it was at one time. She's sorry she had it done.
If you do go ahead have it done, please make sure the merchant is licensed. Many have designs to select from their collections.

Don't get it where you can't cover it up. No matter what, there are people in this world that will judge you and it sucks. You may not be able to get a job something. You need to go to a good tattoo shop and tell them what you want so they can draw it for you. You don't want something that someone else already has.

Inside of shoulder for two reasons.
1) It'll hurt less.
2) You can cover it up for professional purposes.
Check out Microsoft's clipart collection for free art, or go to www.clipart.com for a HUGE selection.

The more padded the area the less it will hurt. If you get it directly over a bony area it will hurt a bit more. I got mine on my thigh. It is very small and it's discrete in this location. To me it didn't hurt at all! Take care.

Try goig to www.tattoodles.com
They have a ton of ideas and designes... I have one on my shoulder and on my ankle... and I can sincerely tell you that the one on my ankle hurt a whole lot more... so I can only guess the wrist would be more painful than the shoulder.
Good Luck with that!
