Where and how else do you get your news about national and international events?

I look at the answers, and it warms my heart to see I am not alone in my dissatisfaction with tv news which can't give me the info I need to make informed decisions. That includes the slick ads which are designed not to inform but to entice you by associations of power, money, and sex to buy a product you probably don't need. TWH 08242006. Besides the internet, I get my news from radio like NPR and KPFT, a founding member of the Pacifica Network, and free-speech radio. TWH 08242006

Well not really worth it but there is always the art of channel flipping to other news stations when these boring adds appear. I also read papers, search the internet and read editorials of all types as I am a media junky......cannot get enough information. some of the adds are really neat though and better and more lively than the news so it is hit and miss. I read blogs more and more as I do editing for Hepatitis C issues sometimes.

TV commercial are boring. You are watching an interesting program. Commercials disturb your concentration. You may switch your TV off in anger, There should be some limit on these advertisements,

Nope. I switched off the news months ago. Now I never watch as its always depressing and bad. For all my news I look on msn every day and consult the online newspapers each morning.
