A homeowner I worked for, received a check from a large reverse morgage company. It it made out to both of us from a reputable escrow company. I have been working for months and I cannot cash it at my bank. HELP!

Deposit the check and wait for it to clear...then withdrawl the funds. It will take less time than getting new seperate checks. Also, a bank will not cash a check unless there are enough funds in your account to cover the check (if the checkis for 10k and you have $200 in the bank...they wont cash it). When you cash a check, there is a freeze put on the funds in your account for the amount until the check clears...it protects the bank from fraud (although you are screwed).

Take it to the homeowners bank or the bank it was issued from.

If this doesn't work contact the escrow co.

Request that the escrow company make out two checks ... one for you and one for him, each for your share.
