ok here are all of the differences between the two, well why the ds lite is better (i have one in my hand right now) its smaller, the status lights are in a more visible place, the microphone is in a different place - in the middle, the start and select buttons are now below the AXYB buttons, the power button is on the side, the stylus is longer and thicker, longer battery life, brighter screens, game boy advance game slot protector. there you go, i would suggest getting a ds lite, i upgraded and i like it a lot better than the regular ds

The Nintendo DS Lite is just an updated version of the Nintendo DS. They are the same hardware and will play the same games. The DS Lite is simply smaller and has better placed controls than the original DS. Get the DS Lite.

The DS Lite is a newer, smaller version of the DS with a more ergonomic button layout and design. It also has multiple power settings for the backlight. Simply put: You'll be able to get a DS for cheaper, but a DS Lite (which costs about as much as an old DS used to) will be smaller and more comfortable to use.

Actually, the lite's cheaper. It's sleeker and fits in your pocket better. Plus, it has this clear plastic coating to help prevent scratches and looks/feels really cool.
Get a DS lite, bro.

original nintendo ds pro: sturdier hinges, game boy advance games fit flushed with the system, may withstand more rough housing abuse with younger children original nintendo ds con: bulkier, screens are not as bright (only 3 levels of brightness), odd location for stylus for the ds lite pro: brighter screens, better positioned microphone and speakers, smaller and lighter (physically), stylus longer ds lite con: game boy advanced cartridge sticks out (on the bottom), publically documented failures in the hinge mechanism hope this helps in your decision!

well, first off, the difference between the 2.... the DS is the regular console, the lite, is just a lighter version of the console...and only comes in white, for now. as for finding it for a cheap price, FRY's Electronics has is for $129.99...don't think its any cheaper than that.

Get the normal one. It's cheaper. The only difference is that the lite is thinner.

DS lite if you can afford it. Sure you might pay a little more but you're getting more bang for the buck. You're looking at a brighter cleaner screen and more battery life. If you're still not convinced, you can check out these YouTube reviews. The guy makes it very entertaining and very informative.

I THINK LITE RUNS OFF OF SOLAR POWER SO IT'S GOOD IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IT OUTSIDE OR IN A BRIGHT AREA, BUT I WOULD TAKE THE DS
