I'm just about 38 weeks pregnant with high blood pressure (160/100). My doctor has put me on blood pressure medicine and has upped the dosage 3 times because it's not lowering my blood pressure. I've had a headache now for the last week with some dizziness and on/off swelling. I let my doctor know about this and she doesn't seem concerned. She had her nurse set me up with an appointment with a primary care doctor but not until August 31st. I don't think I should wait that long. The baby's movements have slowed down, there's still movement but not nearly has strong has they were before. Oh, my doctor is not in the country now, she went to Egypt for 2 weeks. I was thinking about making an appointment with her partner to get a second opinion. Should I?

GO TO EMERG NOW!! Your symtoms are classic symtoms of Pre-eclamsia, cause from pregnancy induced hypertension, can be very dangeorous for baby and mother. You are displaying alot of warning signs, you need to be seen AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. please do not wait, I know what I am talking about. You most likely will need to be delivered soon. do not put this off, I am in nursing and also spent time on the antinatal unit with pre-term labour, and their were many cases of this. Things will be o.k., don't panic, but go now. Good luck and try not to worry.

making an appointment with her partner is just liking making an appointment with her if your original doctor has made a mistake I am sure her partmenr isn't going to out right tell you because of malpractice. I suggest you go to an urgent care center or er and be seen there. I would also suggest to factor in causes for you blood pressure to be high (it could be your diet(high sodium intake) or anxiety/stress) But getting a second opinion from someone other than your doctor's office would be best.

Sounds to me like baby should be delivered. Pregnancy Induced Hypertension is nothing to mess around with, I had a doctor act like it was nothing and I ended up with a placental abruption. I would go NOW to an express care/emergency department and report decreased fetal movement for your sake and the baby

i would get another opinion. your blood pressure is worrying- if your doctor keeps dosing you up on stuff that isnt working then why does he keep giving it to you, that sounds so stupid, try some relaxatio to lower it, why not just go a & e tell them everything and see what they make of it?
the babys movoments will slow down as there is less room in there but not so much that u hardly feel them. go and speak to another proffessional asap if i were you. take care xxx

YES! If I was you I would even consider going to the hospital to have them check you and the baby. My sister just delivered 3 weeks ago. She was induced because hers was 170/100. It kept going up and down so they decided that it was too risky to keep her preggo so she delivered 2 weeks early. Now she and the baby are fine.

yes you should get a second opinion, because worrying will just send your blood pressure higher.
