My husband and I are relocating to southern Ohio from Knoxville, Tennessee. It will sort of seem odd to most for one to move from a big city to a small town. I really need to know specifically how the letter should be outlined and possibly what phrases should be included. Thank you in advance

I think honesty is the best policy here.

I am writing in regards to your add in the SouthernOhioian for an electrician. I am relocating to southern ohio to be closer to family (or to get away from the rat race of the big city... or whatever. Small town people will *get* wanting to be there for small town values)

The middle paragraphs should be standard cover letter stuff... addressing how the hubby fits the requirements of the job.

Your closing paragraph should discuss when he will be available (a month... six weeks... can get moved quickly and start without delay). Also, if you're going to be in the area house hunting, it should mention the days that'll be true and suggest an interview while you're in town.

Just remember that you want the employer to be assured that there's no disadvantage to hiring someone who isn't there yet.

Good luck.

To Whom It May Concern:

Hello, my name is *************. I am interested in the position of Senior Office Assistant. I received the information about this job opening from my uncle *********, who works for the city of No Where.

I have gained experience in secretarial skills through interning in my Early Childhood Education classes as well as in my Yearbook Journalism class. In my Early Childhood Education classes I interned as a teacher’s assistant. In this class I learned to be patient and cooperative with others. I also have learned how to work the Microsoft Excel program. In my Yearbook Journalism class I have learned to operate Adobe Photoshop and Adobe In-Design. I can also operate Microsoft Word and Works. I feel that these skills qualify me for the position I am interested in obtaining.

I have enclosed my resume along with the job application provided and would like to request an interview with you or an associate. Thank you for taking the time to examine my letter.

Respectfully,
