There are lots of symbal names in Yahoo Finance's list. I don't know which one is the right one I need. I need the symbal of oil which is traded at $79 today, and the symbal of gold is traded at about $620 recently. Please help!!!

There are a couple of new ETF's for gold, GLD I think has the best liquidity, and oil has several. If you go that route, look for the highest average volume, so that when you want to get out, it will be more liquid....but it sounds like you are looking for the commodity symbols, as they are commodities. The symbols change depending on the month of the contract, but if you go to www.ancofutures.com, or alaron.com you can look them up pretty easily. Hope this helps!

One oil ETF that tracks the commodity is USO.
GLD for gold.
Or if you want commodities as a whole: DBC or GSG
