It is however based on a book called The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, which is factual, some research by Michael Baigent suggesting that Jesus was married and had children. However the evidence for this is very weak indeed compared to the traditional beliefs, which are evidenced by the four gospel writers, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and others who were alive at the time of Jesus and knew him personally.

The big excitement about the Da Vinci Code is that it goes against popular traditional beliefs, but when you get under the surface you realise that it is a load of hogwash.
