It varies a little depending on the breed, size, and care of your rabbit. Well cared for rabbits can frequently live into the double digits. My senior bun for example was just a mixed breed bought at some pet store but she is now about 11 years old.
According to the House Rabbit Society (rabbit.org)

"Rabbits kept indoors with proper care can expect to live between 9-12 years.
Unfortunately, rabbits kept in backyard hutches have less than half the average lifespan of a house rabbit."

Rabbitrescue.com says:
"The average lifespan of an outdoor rabbit is 3-5 years, the average lifespan of a spayed/neutered house rabbit is 10-13 years."
Most experts will also recommend that you spay/neuter your rabbit early because it will decrease your rabbits risk of other diseases and thus lengthen its lifespan.

I often hear that dwarf rabbits (mini rex, netherland dwarf, mini lop, holland lop etc) tend to have longer lifespans than their larger counterparts. But I searched on google and couldn't really find anything that backs me up. Although it's possible that the larger breeds have a shorter average lifespan because they are harder to accomodate and aren't given appropriate excercise or space to thrive for the length of time a dwarf can. Those are only my thoughts though.

Where are you planning on getting your rabbit from?
A rabbit from a reputable breeder is likely to have been bred to be healthier than a suprise pet shop litter. If you want to get a specific breed (it might be more expensive though. and if you don't, there's no problem with getting a mixed breed) you can probably ask the breeder about her rabbits normal lifespan. She could give you the best answer.

I wish I could give you a more precise answer but unfortunately that's the best I can do. Just remember that if you treat your rabbit right, it will be around for you to enjoy it much longer.
Good luck

It depends on the kind of rabbit and if it is fixed or not. A not fixed rabbit will live to be about 3 or 4, but a fixed rabbit can live to be 10 or 12 but 7 is starting to get old for a bunny. Getting your rabbit fixed or one that has already been fixed will help them live longer and happier lives.

How Old Are Rabbits

Between 8-10 years. If really healthy possibly to 12. Here are some great websites about rabbits. A good book to read is the House Rabbit Handbook.

Just remember that rabbits aren't like cats or dogs they are affectionate in their own way you just have to know how to interprit it. Rabbits don't like being handled because they are prey animals and it makes them feel in danger. If picked up improperly they can break their backs. It is very important to have it spayed or neutered. Unspayed female rabbits have a high cancer rate. Make sure it is a house rabbits since outdoor rabbits are subject to heat stroke, hypothermia, flystrike and predators. Most important adopt from a shelter!

rabbits live for an average of five to seven years, but rabbits can live to be 12 or 13 at the most. so don't be worried that you'll only have your rabbit until 2009... a freind of mine has had their rabbit for 10 years, and counting.

I highly doubt it - she's still a baby! Usually you can't even buy a rabbit until they're at least 8 weeks old, so I'm a tad concerned she's already been taken away from her mum!

I grew up having rabbits as pets and have one now that is 6. They usually live about 8 years. They are great pets and are easily litter box trained.

I have a dwarf rabbit, and I was told that they have a life span of approximately 5 years. I honestly think it is longer though. You should get a bunny. They are adorable, and relatively easy to care for. Good luck!
