This is fairly disgusting, so be warned. I don't know how much back information you need, so I'll say that I am 28 yrs old, and have irregular periods. I had skipped two months when my last period started. My period is basically over now- yesterday was my last heavy day, and now I just have some light discharge. This has happened twice now, and I'm concerned. This morning, when I went to the bathroom (to pee), there was SOMETHING on the paper. At first, I thought maybe it was toilet paper from a middle of the night bathroom trip, but it isn't. I kinda' pulled on it and it's tough, like string. It looks exactly a tampon string- kind of braided, 2'' , but I don't use tampons. The color is like slightly bloody toilet paper. As I said, this has happened twice now. The first time was at the beginning of my period, but I thought it had something to do with skipping 2 months. This is gross, but I wrapped it up in a piece of toilet paper and kept it in case I should need to show it to a Dr.

I'm not sure what that is but it does worry me. Give your doctor a call at least so they can tell you what it might be so you can put your mind at ease. Your doctor will probably want to see you but I think it's worth going to make sure you're healthy. Good luck!

The irregular periods may be from poly cystic ovarian syndrome. Lots of women suffer from this. Look it up on the Internet and see if you have any of the other symptoms. You may have had a cyst that ruptured and your body is disposing of the aftermath.
You definitely need to schedule a visit with your OB/GYN!

That's strange. I would call my doctor to see if he/she has ever heard of such a thing.
