I don't watch it, just snippets here and there. Can some-one tell me how a deserted island can have electric for the hub thing with the lights in it? Where do they get their power from?

When watching LOST, you pretty much get this feeling:

What the **** is going on?
What the **** just happened?
....i hate this show...

I stopped watching halfway through season 2, because it just got too ridiculous.

The Dharma Initiative set up several bunkers on the island that were intended for providing places to conduct "experiments".
I do not know specifically where the electricity comes from, but the island is not exactly deserted, and actually has been developed.
Another bunker on the island was inhabited by a scientist who used a heck of a lot of batteries for power.
There is also some sort of supernatural by-line to the story that has not been completely revealed yet. There are a lot of references to magnetic forces.
It is a pretty cool show. I would recommend it.

If you go to the 'lost' website, it takes u to links that are all to do with the prog as if they were real. For instance, Hurley- the fat guy - was eating an apollo candy bar - the prog designers have actually made a spoof website for it. Plus one of the guys in it was supposed to be from a rock band - they've even made a spoof website for that. All links are 'lost' related. It seems the prog designers have really gone into depth, trying to make the whole thing look real !
Go there - fascinating stuff - u'll be there all day clicking on the links.

watched both seasons and im totally hooked. here's my best guess: the island is a giant electro-type magnet or something of the sort that caused the plane to crash cuz it got turned on accidentally; there's a heck of a lot more but u just gotta watch it.

Since you do not watch it completely, it will be hard to explain to you. But the questions asked by viewers...are the Losties dead and they are in purgatory (notice all the flash backs?) Is it some kind of experiment? There are many websites out there...do a search..

You have to watch the entire thing, or else you really won't get what little there is to get...it's some kind of weird psychological experiment, is where the equipment came from. Like I said, you have to watch it in sequence, it can't be explained in one post either :) Here are some links:

Im not sure you need to understand it. but its the best long running TV prog at the moment, and far superior to the 4400 which I thought was going to be good. But wasnt.
