Use of mobile phone Orlando?

Question

We are of to Disney Orlando next October and there are about 6 families so from time to time we will get seperated when we are at the attractions whats the best way to keep in contact with each other walky talky or do we take a mobile for each group
and use local sim
are there calls cheaper than ours

If you have cell phones already, try using them. It would be cheaper than renting walky-talkies. I just got back from Walt Disney World last Saturday. I have Verizon and I got reception anywhere in Walt Disney World, literally. Even inside the enclosed attractions, bathrooms, etc. Everywhere from the parks to our Resort, and any of the others. I was impressed. Verizon's awesome.

When we were in the USA we bought 2 way walkie talkies from circuit city up to 12 mile range . I beleive you can also hire them at disney.

Most groups that go to Disney use Walkie Talkies. Though Disney it self use's Nextels to comunicate so if you have Nextel you'll have good reception while your down here.

A two-way radio will probably be your best option. Cell phones work great if you are on a plan where you can call each other free, i.e. family share or "in" Otherwise it can get costly and you will use all your minutes. So, it really just depends on your family and situation.

I would look into 2-way radios. Look for one with a good range and several channels so you avoid other peoples conversations.

we have cingular and just came back from disney last week. cingular sucked in disney. there was little or no reception in or near any of the restrooms and in a majority of the parks.
