I cae anyone thinks I'm being obnoxious, I've just started reading the stories, and I can see how this question may be percieved as bad taste.

Quick summary-JonBenet Ramsey was a little girl (also a mini-beauty queen contestant) who was beaten and murdered in her home the day after Christmas about 6 years ago. The Boulder, CO police questioned many people, and the standard tabloid speculation was that her parents were somehow involved in the murder. This speculation went on for years, mainly because of the tragedy of a beautiful little girl being brutally murdered in her own home.
Thankfully, it appears that her parents truly had nothing to do with it. JonBenet's mother recently died of ovarian cancer, but supposedly the killer wrote a note to Mrs. Ramsey before she died to apologize for sexually assaulting and killing her daughter. Yeah, right, like that really helps.

Jon Benet Ramsey was a 6 yr. old beauty queen found violently murdered and raped in the basement of her house the day after Christmas in 1996. It was a huge story because firstly, it went unsolved for so long, and secondly, because her parents were major suspects. Her mother died of cancer this past spring, so that brought it to the forefront again. It was also socially important because it brought the various beauty pageant systems under scrutiny since some considered that to be an important reason behind her death. It was suggested that Jon Benet's presence in the pageant system led to a deranged individuals obsession with her, and so the safety of pageants for small children was questioned. Recently a suspect was arrested in Bangkok, and that's what's in the news now.

I have no Idea why this story is so big. over 2600 american men are dead from the Iraq war and the death of a rich white girl, dead for 10 years, is more news worthy. Kinda sad.

Jon Benet wasn't a dude, she was a little girl who was constantly entered into beauty contests. She was murdered at the age of six and the autopsy showed that she'd been sexually abused a short while before her death. Books have been written and I think there's even been a movie made about her story. Most people suspected her parents, and the case had been unsolved for a decade. Her mother, Patsy, died of ovarian cancer a little while back.

Isnt Jon Benet Rampsay the 7 year old girl? Anywho, that guy is the guy who murdered the little girl 3 years ago and people think the parents did it.

It was a 6yr old girl who was murdered and the investigation centered on her parents who are supposedly innocent....recently they caught a man connected with the 1996 murder but thats as far as I have kept up on the story. Whether he is guilty or not has yet to be determined

Jonbennett wasn't a dude. It was a lil 6 y/o girl who was murdered in her house about 10 yrs ago. It's been an unsolved case all this time until this scumbag Karr surfaced and said he murdered her.....read your news

JonBenet was a 6 year old child that was killed back in 1996. It was rumored that her parents killed her until now when a killer has confessed...although we won't know until he goes to trial.
She was found strangled to death in the basement of her parents home.
