Im a boy and I'd pick Jeff because that's my uncle's name and my best friend's name is Adam so i wouldn't want both our names spelled the same, and if i was a girl I'd pick Amber because there's this girl i hate named Jessica.

I guess I would go with Jessica for the girl and Adam for the boy. But why change your name? Its yours for a reason!

I would pick Amber for a girl (prettier, not as common), and Jeff for a boy (like the meaning, and too many jokes about adam and eve)
Meanings:
Jessica - feminine form of Jesse, which means 'gift'
Amber - the color amber, or resin from a tree
Adam - 'man'
Jeff - short for Jeffrey which is derived from Geoffrey which has a combined meaning of 'stranger' and 'peace'
