Is it okay to take the birth control pill if you already have a short and light period?

it depends on what type of birth control that you plan on taking.
some can make you go heavy and some can make you go light, but I would ask my doctor for the best birth control pill with less
side effects.

Yes. Actually you want to have a good strong period because it allows the endometrium to shed. Which when you do decide to get pregnant, that endometrium will become the placenta. I personally take an aspirin on my period days. It gives me a good strong period, I shed (the endometrium) quickly, and it's over in about three days. I got the idea because I heard that indian women used to chew on a certain type of bark during their period, turns out that bark has a natural form of aspirin in it.

Birth control is taken to prevent unwanted pregnancy, it may be used secondarily to assist in controlling unmanageable menstrual cycles. If you are sexually active, birth control in some form or another is always a good idea...but if you are saying that you want to take it to control a menstrual cycle that obviously has no need of control...well, then it becomes a silly question.

depending on what pill your on i would say yes because the pill is taken for mainly for unwanted pregnancies, you can also take the pill for clearing up spots and preventing you from having really painful periods

yes it is ok. it could make you periods longer and heavier though. consult a doctor about which one is right for you.
