Alton Towers has the best themed rides anywhere, designed and themed by Chris Sawyer himself. They have a ridiculously low height restriction because of a nearby airport, so alot of their rides stay close to ground or go underground. They have some great coasters including Nemesis, Oblivion, and Rita: Queen of Speed. They also have some great family rides.

Thorpe Park has several great rides too, and I think it's more of a thrill park than Alton Towers. They have the roller coaster which holds the world record for the most inversions, Colossus, which goes upside down a whopping 10 times. Also there is the newly built Stealth, and their Slammer ride looks interesting.

Chessington Worlds of Adventure is a pure family park. No intense thrill rides, but quite a few family friendly and fun rides that the little ones as well as yourself can enjoy, but if you're a teenager looking for something to get your adrenals flowing, then I wouldn't recommend coming to Chessington.

I've never been to any of them, but I am a roller coaster and theme park freak, so I am chock full of information like this. If I were to choose one, I would probably go to Thorpe Park, simply because it contains more high-octane thrills than the other two, although I really would love to try Oblivion at Alton Towers.

Blackpool Pleasure beach knocks spots of them all, though Alton Towers has some great rides. Best theme park i've ever been to is Island of Adventures at Universal Orlando. The Hulk rollercoaster is something else

Just been alton towers and it was great, but we did pay a bit extra for a short cut pass which is well worth it as we all just got on the big rides straight away. Drayton Manor is good too because it does have a good zoo so theres something different for all ages. But just a note here all the parks charge an excessive amount for tickets and then you have the drinks and food etc. Two adults and two children you would be touching 200 quid for a day out!

Rita: Queen of speed.........she nearly made me lose my head and she scared the hell out of me.
Will NEVER go on her again!
Oblivion: I thought I was going to fall out and when you go under-ground, I cried because I thought I was going to smash into the ground.
Used to love Black Hole, but they've closed it down now for some reason..........heigh-ho!
All these can be found at the one and only Alton Towers.
