When you install the hard drive into the new motherboard, it will recognize the new hard drive automatically. As far as chip set and such, it doesn't matter with the hard drive.

It will work, but you will have to re-activate Windows XP. When you change mobos or CPUs you have to re-activate Windows XP. Microsoft's program has spyware which tells it the configuration of your original computer's mobo and CPU. Re-activation requires you to call Microsoft and get a new key code for re-activation. Probably, your best bet would be to replace your hard drive with a larger one in SATA and use the old drive as the slave. Then you could transfer your old data and programs to the new drive. Get a copy of Windows XP Pro-OEM from newegg.com that would be the place to get it the cheapest.

You need to reinstall Windows XP because you changed lotsa hardware on your PC.
For best results, install Windows XP Pro SP2.
You will also need ,apart from the Windows XP Pro SP2,Cd's with drivers for your new hardware. You can still download them from the internet by using the same PC,so make sure you have at least the LAN driver on CD,if not all the rest
