It's all about how they're raised. If you get a teenager from a well-adjusted family, from a supportive and understanding family... if they're taught good values and morals, and they're taught that every action has a consequence, those teens are often more likely to choose to wait to have sex.
Most parents now don't have time to raise their children as they have had in the past. Now it's more parents saying "Don't do that." and expecting their children to listen.

I come from a loving and supportive home and I was raised "right" yet I chose to have sex at 15/16. So not all teens that are having sex come from bad homes or were taught lax morals. However, sex has been made socially acceptable by the media and my peoples openess about sex. Therefore kids are more likely to use sex as a way to show their maturity and committment to a relationship (however wrong this may be). In the old days older people weren't so open about sex and sex wasn't seen on television so kids didn't know about it and if they did they did not consider it acceptable.

Girls are have sex at a early age for one becausealot of parents are not at home. Both parernt these days have to work. Or they are being raised by only one parent who works and that is noramaly the mother. The girl are looking for a father figure so the are reach for a man that thinks they want sex not guidess. Second, the schools are saying it is alright to have sex if you use protection. Thirdly, they see everyone else around them having sex so they think it is OK.
Some man are studip and need to grow up.
Please wait to have sex. Have a life before you have kids.

Those teens who are having sex think they are adults...when in reality and physically are not. Their main concern in life right now is to go to school not lay up in bed with one another thinking they know all about sex when in reality they do not because when it comes down to getting pregnant, getting STDs and AIDS they are scared and be coming on here whooping and hollaring what they are going to do...what they should have done was left sex alone till they are out of high school or least get a college degree.

Okay, stop calling ppl stupid number one. And number two, I have no clue what this world is coming to. Adam and Eve just had to eat that apple didn't they? They are mislead. And when they are lead the right way, some convert, some don't. The ones that don't are stubborn. But I still agree, no sex till marriage!!!!!
PERIOD!

its all lack of parental involvement. which is bad parenting and lack of proper education and a little peer pressure. the media plays a big part too always showing people having sex. the truth is they dont show the ugly side. the stds and pregnancy as well as the real aftermath of a one night stand. where the guy or girl uses you just for sex

yea i agree but i was 16 and i am now 19. but anyone under 15 i think is too young. but its their choice and they have to learn that sometimes there are consequences for your actions... and one of the consequence for haveing sex at a young age could be ending up pregnant.

Because of bad parenting or because they are pressured by friends into having sex. Or because they want to prove to their girlfriend/boyfriend that they really love them.
