since i posted this i don;t eat as much and I go to a gym,but i'm still gaining weight! i was around 160 then 195 when i started this exercise now, i'm 200 lbs! i am the swim coach for the high school swim team, and last year i was in great shape...and dark hair...now im all white with a gut and i can't swim very good. my son is embarresed by my old fat self but everyone says i'm a santa/werewolf because i've grown an increasingly amount of body hair and all my hair is white and my new belly. why am i gaining weight but eating healthy and exercising?

There is no way to calculate what your weight gain will be. Believe it or not you can control that. It will take time and effort, but you can determine for yourself what dietary and exercise adjustments need to be made to accommodate the changes in your metabolism.

When we hit our late 30's our bodies start to lose muscle tissue; it's just a fact, Jack! We all do it! The muscles don't "turn" to fat so much as we don't do as much physical activity and put on as much muscle as we age. The white body hair; also a fact! Whatchagonnado? Die with lots of dark hair and muscles at a young age? Or appreciate your changing body that is naturally growing older? I would say don't worry about the body hair thing and maybe get on a moderate exercise program and diet. Go to a site to calculate your BMI rate and it will tell you what you should weigh. As for your kids: honey, their turn is coming very soon! Good luck, Dad!

Believe me, U are normal.
The best thing to do is to eat more fruits and veggies and dont eat at all after 6 pm.
Your hair...get some 5 min hairdye just for men.
U will look 30 again quick.
Your weight will go up and down.....exercise after u eat...wait
20 min, then exercise..
Remember after the age of 50 tomatoes are a mans best

Yes men grow a lot more body hair after they reach 50. It seems to fall off their head and onto their chest and back and ears. By all means have some one pluck those ear hairs out. Start going for walks and cut back on the amount of food you eat. Cut out the cakes and pies and deserts.
Type in average weight chart
or average weight charts and you can find many.
Here is one web site

I don't know about the hair, but I do know about the weight. You do gain more weight because you body's metabolism slows down, and its harder for you to burn fat.
Maybe you should try using Nair if you want to get rid of the body hair, also you might have gain some weight after you started exercising is because you gained muscle, remember muscle weights more than fat. Not only do you need to lift weights but you have to do cardio too, (running, swimming, walking) or your just going to gain muscle, there for your only going to gain more weight!

The weight you gain is entirely dependant on your diet and how much you exercise, not your age.
As we age, our metabolic rates slow, that means that to maintain tone and weight as we age we much persist in maintaining physical activities.
You've gained weight and gotten "old" because you have become a couch potato...need to get out there and be active. Push away from the table sooner and more often.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. A review of the various hair removal methods is available at

Men get 'pelt back' and just generally hairy all over as they age. Testosterone makes your head hair thin and your body hair go crazy.
Weight question?----see website below------tells you your appropriate weight. It's up to you how much weight you gain.
