I am refering to any Pro Wrestling promotions today ---- WWE, TNA, ROH, etcetcetc.

I think Pro Wrestling today has completely lost the true art and morals of it once was.

It seems to care more about its money than what wrestling represents.

I will agree... even in the 80's, 70's, 60's, etc.. there was still good guys Vs bad guys, but it was a wrestling match than the crap today. I dont see any wrestling... just flying about and all that completely rubbish acting!!!

Some will say... "Yeah but its just entertainment"... I agree, but a lot of them wouldnt know how to wrestle at all. Wrestling should be removed from WWE.

Japan seems to be the only place that follows the true principles of Pro Wrestling....

Check these examples: -

Lou Thesz - 1957

Funaki (UWF) more modern than obove

Whats your opinion.... HONEST ANSWERS ONLY!!!

You say "I don't see any wrestling". Well, everyone's got a different opinion of what wrestling should be. I can watch stuff like the UWF shoot-style matches, and there _I_ don't see any wrestling. To me, it's just guys hitting each other. Yet when All Japan incorporated that more "realistic" style into grappling, it created a classic era of great matches.

You talk about "the true principles of Pro Wrestling". I don't know, that sounds a little pompous to me. What are these principles? Put on a show to the best of your ability and entertain the fans, that's what it all boils down to.

Okay, let's talk modern wrestling. I don't watch WWE, because I feel it insults my intelligence. I do watch TNA, because while it's superficially a lot like WWE, it's not as crass or vulgar. ROH I have mixed feeling about. A lot of it is over-hyped. However, when I watch a guy like Bryan Danielson, I can see a wrestler who understands the history of pro wrestling, and understands the significance of everything he does in the ring. Watch Danielson vs. Marufuji from December 2005, and then re-watch the Lou Thesz vs. Rikidozan match you linked to above. The moves might be a whole lot flashier these days, but there's a direct lineage.

I think that WWE have just lost it today, lame story lines, very bad wrestlers for the most, many of the good wrestlers are leaving somewhere else etc...

Vince McMahon should probably take a look back at the 80's, where wrestling was not even compareble to today's wrestling, first they where only 1 weekly show but God it was a good until the end of the program, story lines had better taste, baseball stadiums where full for PPV's! Plus wrestlers where much better actors and got better skills with the mic. Here a little somethin to remember

I really think is horrible, I used to like it but now the story lines and the wrestling are terrible, mainly the writing of the show. That's where you get when you ran a show for so long the ideas just ran out and you start repeating yourself. Now we have DX again, but it looks to me a two old guys nothing new, then on Smack down you have the Pit bulls, who don't even look that menacing as the Original Pit bulls of ECW, but you see repeating gimmicks and ideas. Thank god I got WWE 24-7 where I can see the old wrestling that I used to like and enjoy. The other thing is that some of the wrestlers today don't have enough charisma to get over still they get pushed to main level status. We get Triple H (who I think is great) rammed in to our throats so we see him every show, and now behaving like an idiot in the DX angle, we have Mr. McMahon back in action when he is done that evil boss already too many times. They commit errors like giving the belt to RVD but then send him to ECW (which at least until now is just a mere shadow of the ECW we all know and love). Believe I love the girls but doing the whole strip tease thing was horrible, because now everybody thinks ECW is a low budget strip show. Then they try to put ECW in the map, but you only get half of the stars that made ECW back, where is The Franchise Shane Douglas, Steve Corino, Rhyno, Tod Gordon and many others, with all the money Vince has he cannot pay for The Enter Sandman song? Come on!!! I just really hopes the business picks up and ECW gets better because I see a very dark future for it specially WWE. The things went down when Vinnie Mac bought out the competition that ruined the business, no competition, no quality, they can put whatever show they want and still people will buy tickets, PPV, and watch TV.

hi i think it has moved with the times. since the carnation of e.c.w. and the new revolution hard core wrestling has come into focus i think some of us die hard old school wrestling fans have been lacking some variety. but i must say i love to see wrestlers like aj styles and the Hardy's and hardcore wrestling. but i must say i loved the wrestling of the 70s and 80s it was more like honest if you know what i mean and the ppvs was more exciting as when you had mean gean on the wwf hyping up the next one you just could not wait. I'm glad though it has changed in some respects but we still need some good old REAL wrestlers doing there thing. the last of which sadly was the hit man Bret hart and the old school wrestling guys.i think guys like Benoit is still holding the flag for the old school guys but for how long until Vince gets fed up or if he buys tna and turns it into another wwe buyout. i respect r.o.h. for good honest wrestling and new style wrestling but as i said we got to move with the times.

I think your right, I only really watch WWE (due to arguments over tghe tv lol) but I think that theyre way more concerend about money then their fans. Take the royal rumble for example, Imajine how cool it would of been to see RVD appear un-expected, Instead WWE promoted it for weeks just to get more viewers but runing the fun for the real fans. It does it a lot teh latest with the Jeff Hardy storyline.

Thats the only reason they have the multiple shows too is for money, which sucks because wwe would br way more interesting if the main event wasn't the same every week

WWE has to keep up with up to date things.I know WWE hasn't really focus on wrestling but they still got those one of a kind special matches like hell in a cell and the elimination chamber.I mean if they continue showing those type of speciality matches,WWE superstars will quit cause preparing a special match takes alot of time and alot of hardwork, just imagine having to do that every week and they have to rehearse in under a week.If wwe keep showing just wrestling it will be boring, that's why wwe has to spice things up a bit.Fans keep saying wwe should hire more better wrestlers but what they don't know is that there are a few wrestlers which such talent,i mean like there's only one stone cold, hbk, batista etc in the world.

It is not as good as it was back in the 70s and 80s. Back then you had to sell the moves and act like it really did something to you. The bad guys where never seen with the good guys and they had different dressing rooms. To help keep the act alive.

i think of it does. From the comments of what handed off between Cryme Tyme and Cade and Murdoch, i'd have wager that Cade and Murdoch would have been those to get fired, no longer Cryme Tyme. and how approximately whilst Vince McMahon found out who his "son" became into, and that dude stated "Your son has user-friendly epidermis." Vince McMahon stated all fortunately "MY SON IS CAUCASIAN?" i comprehend the Vince's son became into all kay-fabe, however the way he stated that became into purely uncalled for and in my opinion disrespectful. Oh and to no longer point available has on no account been an entire blooded African American WWE Champion. and not even purely african human beings, yet why does the WWE would desire to make each and every center-jap individual a heel? Like Daivari and Khali...they are heels purely as a results of conflict. purely as a results of fact somebody is from the middle-east does not lead them to a terrorist. (And Daivari is from Michigan besides.....)

WWE is crap. TNA is getting near great. ROH needs a TV deal in the USA.

I grew up with guys like the crusher and mad dog vachon, today's "stars" don't come close to them in entertainment value.
