orange for healing
yellow for sun
green for nature
turquoise for the arts
indigo for harmony
violet for spirit

There are actually an infinite number of colors in a rainbow. Sure, there are the seven identified colors, ROY G BIV, etc. But of course there are hundreds, thousands, millions of colors in between those seven.
It all depends on how you define two different colors.
I remember a while back there was a unit proposed called the "jnd," for "just noticeable difference." If you used this unit on a rainbow's colors, the average person would probably see only a few hundred or so.

The rainbow is the rainbow. The colors in any rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. The rainbow is used as a symbol for the glbt community because it represents diversity and unity at the same time. 7 seperate colors that exsist together and make something very beautiful and unique.

True rainbow colors are Red Orange Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. But in commercial printing, anything above six colors gets really expensive, as the biggest common color press is six-color. So in most manufactured and printed rainbows, the Indigo is left out.

I have it on my avatar and no it isn't meant to be the gay one. I 'm not sure that the gay one is any different than a normal one -the colors on a normal rainbow are as follows. red, orange, yellow, green, blue and vertigo.
