Excellent answers from everyone. I had my own grief w/ Popcorn.net. One shot of Dr. Spyware later and bye bye Popcorn >). But Ad-Aware and McAfee will also work well.

Step1. Scan your system for spyware/malware (use AdAware Personal, you cand download from www.lavasoft.com)
Step2. Install and use Mozilla Firefox, that is far more secure and reliable compared with Internet Explorer(which I guess is the one you're using right now)

If it is a program you might be able to uninstall it in the control panel. If not, it is possibly a browser hijack attepmt or just malware. Try using some spyware removal tools. They can be found at www.download.com I recommend Ad-Aware.

find a program called "starter" this will look for programs that start on your computer when you boot it or while the computer is running. If you dont know the source of the programs, you right click it to search google to find if it is good enough. If it does show as bad, you can delete it there.

let me guess, it says "free trial expired." i saw a question concerning this before. apparently it had a couple other names relating to movie theaters before it was "popcorn." antivirus programs don't work on it, but there's a website that will help you remove it. search for it in the "search for questions" bar; i haven't dealt with it myself
