I want somewhere on the beach. I've looked at Atlantic Sands and Quality Inn. I'm on a budget so not to expensive. Anyone have any suggestions.

To be honest.... as long as you're on the beach then it's good. You probably won't be spending that much time in the room anyways, right? Save your $$ for food and fun!!

The Marriot on 7th is nice, and is above a good restaurant. If you are looking for something a little more at the end of the boardwalk, the Cavalier is not bad. The Hilton on 31st is the newest and biggest. I have stayed at the Days Inn (21st ST +/-)and was happy enough there. The rates will go significantly after Labor Day, and it will still be more than warm enough to swim and tan till late September.

Most of them are about the same unless you dish out for the nice new Hilton on 31st street. The Ramada around 5th is nice. It's less packed at the beach during the day and the restaurant inside (Mahi Mah's) is a good one. They also have one of the boardwalk stages right outside, so you can go right down to Mahi Mah's, have a drink and watch a concert. If you want to be in the middle of all the craziness, consider somewhere around 20th street (but I wouldn't suggest it).
