Freud would say all women date/marry their fathers in some regard or another...if he abused you, you're more likely to choose a man who abuses you as an adult, and so on. A supportive father will help a woman pick a better mate. An absent father can ruin a woman's chances of having a mate at all.

p.s. I'm no great fan of Freud - but a lot of people have this view and he seems to have been the one to theorize it first.

This is a question that i tell to men often. A good father figure, helps a girl judge what the man in her life should or can be, because, a good father is also a good man, and can teach her what to look out for. When there is a lack of a fathers love, affection a training, she will aways be trying to find that love in other men, and this makes her a target for the low life men that are more than willing and able to take advantage of that need, bur are waiting and looking for the opportunity to do so.

Well, my father is very easy going and that quality passed on to me, as well as being a bit lazy and very honest. My father also saved me from strong lectures about my grades and he never punished me. Usually a father figure affects a woman by showing her how to go around in the world and teaching her to be modern.

The father-daughter relationship is essential - considering that the father is the first man in a woman's life: She's going to look for some qualities in men that are similar to his.
If she's got nothing to go on (father not around) - she's going to look for some semblance of a father figure in her man - and it may not always be the right set of qualities.

I think lack of a father figure or a bad one can have an incredible effect on a woman's relationship with men. Especially when the child has been abandoned. Her future expectation of all men in her life is that they will leave her. It breeds insecurity. It is an upward battle to be able to trust. Also, an abusive or alcoholic male (or both) can drastically effect her relationships later on. She will unconciously seek out men who have the same traits. Hope this helps.

Failure on a father to show his love and dedication to his daughter through her life, especially during teen years, can really have a negative effect on a girl. If she doesn't get love from her Dad/father figure, she'll find it elsewhere (i.e. boyfriend). This is usually what produced precocious young women.

wow, a father has a huge impact on his daughters. it has been proven that women with no father figure are more likely to get pregnant at a young age and out of wedlock, they have lower self esteem as well

loss of dad discern would be in loss of protection, secure practices. in long term, this person won't have confidence adult males. There are stable and undesirable components. consistent with probability, she would be able to be extra mature in one way, however the undesirable component is subconsciously she would think of all adult males are like her father... do no longer decide to take duty. of path, there are exceptions. yet it relatively is a generic and trouble-free habit you may even see a newborn growing to be up with out dad discern.
