This question is a little tricky because I would have to know your childs age now. I can tell you that when my daughter was one year old(she's thirty six now), I took her to my doctor who delivered her, and with me present in his office I allowed him to pierce her ears. Piercing is a procedure that should have adult supervision present if the child is not at least old enough to drive. In my opinion I feel that teens today have much to much freedom to go, and to do as they please. Their are things that can go wrong medically if the piercer is not a professional. If you have a responsible older teen she may do the right thing. Any child under the age of twelve should not have this done without a responsible adult present.

My parents made me wait until I was 13 but that was after asking over and over every day for a year. Other wise it would have been at 16. Sadly is wa proven that if a childs ears are pierced as a baby, (for girls) they are more likely to have sex at a younger age. Sounds odd but perhaps that helps some. Good luck!

in many countries, it rather is classic to pierce the ears of woman little ones, and that i haven't any concern with that, and that i do no longer evaluate it abusive. I even have no concern with mum and dad interior the US in the event that they choose to have their youngster's ears pierced, yet i might like that they do it early, earlier the youngster can tug at her ears. in the event that they have not got it carried out while the toddler is very youthful, i might rather they wait until eventually the youngster is the right age to particular her very own desires. i might additionally want that they have it carried out via a specialist piercer, who will do a greater clever interest, reason much less soreness, and use sanitary equipment, instead of a individual with minimum coaching and a piercing gun. the only time i'm getting rather annoyed is once I see people who've had their male youngster's ears pierced via fact they think of it rather is "cool". I even have seen rather distinctive little boys, some as youthful as 4 or 5, with pierced ears. I concern via fact little boys play tough, and that i think of there are various opportunities for injuries, inclusive of torn earlobes.

I may not be the person to ask. My pediatrician pierced my daughter's ears when she was an infant. My thinking was I'ld rather have a pediatrician do it with sterile tools then some 16 year old working at the piercing pagoda when she was 11 or 12. To me, piercing ears is not big deal.

I am a mother of 3 daughters & I decided to wait till the girls were old enough to decide for themselves, as for me I had mine done at 1 month old. In sri Lanka where I was born they tend to do it early. I have no regrets, but having 3 daughters ranging from the youngest being 20, they too were glad to have that decision they could make. I guess it is up to the induvidual parent. They have friends who dont ever want their ears peirced & were glad they werent done by hteir parents, as the hole is somewhat visible even years after.I hope I could help.

That's between you and her mother. When you think she is responsible enough to take care of them. You should either do it when they are a baby, or wait until the girl will clean them herself. If she is good about doing her homework, brushing her teeth, or cleaning up her room, then those are good signs she is ready for the responsibility. If you still have to nag her to do every little thing, she isn't showing that she's ready.
While getting your ears pierced is a simple thing, if she doesn't take care of them properly while they heal, she could end up with an infection. Then she'd have to take them out and let them heal. She'd have to get them re-pierced, and scar tissue is harder to work with than healthy skin.

Any age works, just make sure that she's responsible enough to clean them daily if you won't remind her, so they don't get infected. Oh, and go to Clair's (at the local mall) , they have great ear piercing and don't even use needles! The stud goes directally into the ear. But get the white gold, they are very sanitary and the best for sensitive ears.

Don't let her pierce her ears... if it must be done have a professional do it. If you want her to grow up and be a slut and a whore, do it whenever. If you want her to be an intelligent, respectful, successful woman have a conversation about it with her when she is old enough to ask bout it, as long as you discuss the positive and negative effects such a decision may have.
