I hate most of the jocks at my school they think there better then everyone and make other kids feel all bad cuz there not that "cute" or "cool" i think its stupid! What bout you?

The nice thing about that is that when they get out of school their going to crash into reality and find out their that better than you or me. In 10 years their the ones that are going to have the dead end job unless their really good at football then they we be in the NFL but......to answer your question it's society that put jocks on this pedestal. Makes them think it's OK to do what they do simply because they play sports for the school and the more they win the more money the school get from the government.

Because they are more buff than everyone else and because football is a popular sport.
This means that..
(1) To them being more buff means they are more attractive to women, so they can get away with being mean to people and still get the women.
(2) Closely aligned with (1) is that since they are more buff, they have the perception that they can kick anyone's @$$. So it's about power over people.
(3) Football is popular so their popularity is guaranteed if they excel at it, so why bother trying to be nice when you will have 'friends' anyway?
That's the way I understand jock mentality. It's all about power, really. They have the power to be jerks.

Women like jocks and women like jerks (for some reason). So jocks act like jerks to solidify their position with the ladies.

Yeah, most of them are, so are the cheerleaders. I think that they are stuck up jerks that need a reality check. Sure, popularity might be nice in school, but what happens when they get out in the REAL WORLD? Popularity means nothing after school is over.

Not all jocks are jerks. It's the ones who think they can be jerks who have nothing but sports to give them any sort of attention.

Violence begets violence, plus woman are shallow and will use them for sex. Pretty simple they think they are all that but really they are getting used.
The violence side comes from what they do and being famous people often times turn there heads, like in college when I told the football players they couldn't cheat of me, it was the right thing to do but risking my life in doing it.
