I love Harry! I read all the books and when the next one comes out I keep the entire weekend free, unplug the phone and read it.

I think it's an excellent work of literature to read. Really written well, and the character work is pretty awesome too.
And I challenge all those people who say that its bad (especially the Christians) to read it with an open mind and enjoy it, because it is a wonderful fantasy piece about the fight of good against evil - every story has it in there somewhere, and it echoes 'the lion the witch and the wardrobe' and 'the lord of the rings' in speaking of magic and the existence of a deeper magic -- That being LOVE!
I also say that if it is getting children to read who wouldn't normally - well then, I think that's great!
It's just a pity that when they make the movies, they cut out so much of the story and adventures...
Read it and enjoy it! :-)

I love the Harry Potter stories! They're some of the few movies I actually look forward to watching with my kids! And that Harry, I could just *PINCH* his rosy cheeks! ;)

Both the Harry Potter books and movies are stupid and I am routing for J.K. Rowling to kill Harry Potter in the last book!

Have you seen JK's husband ? dead ringer for the Potter chap.. think she got Dr. Potter to wear the Glasses as a PR stunt... or to fend off the rumours that she nicked the story from that poor bint she knew.. Anyway Potter - sorry - but tooo many big words.....and scaaaaarrrryyy toooo.. !

I think he's awesome. I'm a 30 year old mother of 3 girls. Anything to help me escape from reality for just a little while is worth it. Also, my oldest started reading Harry at age 8. If it is keeping her interest, and it's keeping her reading, good for her!

WHY IS EVERYBODY CUTTING ON HARRY SO BAD? MY DAUGHTER WANTED TO SEE THE MOVIE.....AND WITH ALL THE BAD PRESS I SAID "NO", BUT WE COULD READ THE BOOK TOGETHER. WE DID & I WAS HOOKED. ROWLING MADE SURE TO MAKE WIZZARDRY AN OCCUPATION, NOT A RELIGION. THERE EXISTS IN THIS SERIES THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN GOOD & EVIL WHICH IS CENTRAL TO ALL THE GOOD CLASSICS (NARNIA, LORD OF THE RINGS) I HAD NEVER BEFORE SEEN ADULTS & CHILDREN ALIKE WAITING AT THE BOOKSTORE UNTILL MIDNIGHT TO BUY A BOOK. HER STORIES ARE FANTASIES, TAKING THE READER AWAY FROM THE TROUBLES OF THEIR DAILY LIFE AND INTO HOGWARTS.
