a nuclear bomb consists of 2 diff piecs of fissionable matarials smaller than the critical size,which when brought together builds up rapidly resultin in explosion.

I am not sure if this is what you want to know but you have to release energy from an atom by splitting the nucleus. You can do a google search for fusion and fission which are the 2 methods of splitting the nucleus. You will be able to find information that is much clearer than I could explain.

The USA had the technology first and the Rosenthals shared that information with the Soviet Union. I am guessing the the USA and Soviet Union shared their knowledge of nuclear weaponry with other nations. My next guess is that nuclear bombs come from the USA...
