Maybe he was looking at a long hard life in a Bangkok prison 'sure not to be fun' and thought of a way to get sent back to the good ole U.S.

He's got porn charges against him, worked as a teacher for "high profile, wealthy" families, was staying in a sex hotel in Thailand where the average age of their prostitutes are 10 or 11, his own father is quoted as saying that he thought someone would have killed him by now and was surprised to hear he was still alive, he had a fascination with Jon Benet along with another girl killed in CA, applied for a teaching license in CO which was never pursued. Need I go on? We will see what the DNA reveals.

personally , i think the real killer just died (patsy) . At the time of the crime the Police dept stated that there were no footprints in the snow leading into the household, which means this guy would have had to have been in the house for several days before dec 26th 1996. I also find it hard to believe that after all this time he still remembers , to the dollar, how much he asked for in ransom money & that amount just happens to match the exact amount that the "supposed " killer had asked for

Of COURSE he did it! He was under investigation and was arrested BEFORE he admitted to doing it. He was also in trouble with the Thailand authorities for unrelated sex crimes there as well. He did not contact authorities, confess and turn himself in...and even then I would not automatically assume that he did not do it and is just in a fantasy land as some of you are doing so closed mindedly.
So bottom line....he was a suspect, he had no knowlege of himself being investigated, he was arrested in Thailand for the murder of the little child who he THEN confessed in murdering.

I think too many people already have it in their head that the parents killed their daughter. The police department in Bolder did a terrible job investigating this case and the media made the country very biased about it. Unless you can open your mind to all the facts (which we don't have) you'll never come to the right conclusions. Put this bastard in jail to rot and leave the family out of it. Let's let Jon-Benet and her mother rest in peace.

I don't think you are correct in your assumptions and here is why:
1) Ones finances are severely scrutinized by authorities in jail and during an investigation. They follow the money to answer questions that people lie about.
2) There is no benefit for him, at all, with the possible exception of notoriety.
3) His wife loves him, even though he is a pedophile, and he was living in Thailand where access to cheap, underage prostitutes is very very easy. She is lying for him in a vain attempt to gain his loyality and love.

I don't think you can believe everything the ex-wife says either. At first report she stated they were either in Alabama or Atlanta that Christmas. You mean to tell me you can't remember each Christmas time you spent with family especially if you were traveling.
I guess in a way we really won't know who to believe even when it is all said and done.

He looks like a creep , period. Let him rot in jail. I think the chair is too good for that baby molester -killer ! The BTK killer wanted to get caught too. These people are sick and strange to begin with so why try to figure it out as he has priors to this type of thing.

Possibly. It does seem kind of odd how he is making a spectacle of this by doing a press conference and admitting his supposed guilt. He looks very odd. For all we know he could be one of those weirdo's that is turned on by the attention regardless if its for a bad or good reason.

He's just nuts. Supposedly his ex-wife says he wasn't in Colorado. He's obsessed with little girls and this case in particular, exchanging emails with investigators and the family. I don't think he had anything to do with it, but they had to charge him in order to bring him back from Thailand to really question him.
