Next to the search box (where you type in your topic) there should be a down arrow. click on that and you will have the option to clear recent searches. For example, click on google next to the google search box and you will see 'clear recent searches'. Do that for which ever search box you use.

On your page top you will see File Edit View Favorites Help......click on tools then internet options.

Now see' temporary internet files' click delete files

same tools then internet options in history section click clear history

restart your computer if that helps

Haven't found a way to prevent that. Although when I ran a system repair with my computer, it did clear all my old searches.

Although since then, the issue has returned. I however don't have a problem with it and like it. But as long as your not searching for things you shouldn't or don't want other to see, then you shouldn't have a problem.

If you're searching for something you don't want someone else to find out about, use the computer at the public library. Then it will forget what you searched for as soon as you log off. Come to think about it, they could probably advise you how to get your home computer to develop amnesia.

If you use Internet Explorer,it's tricky,as it has privacy issues.

Try installing Mozilla Firefox 1.5 (another internet browser)
Under tools menu in Mozilla Firefox, you have a CLEAR PRIVATE DATA tab, this can clear all the private searches
