I gave up a long time ago trying to figure out why I'm here. And there is no god. I'm here, I'm going to make the best of it, and not worry about things.

Finding God, as well as discovering your reason to live, is a very personal quest and one which only you can fully achieve and understand to your own satisfaction. There are many pathways to God and perhaps the best way to investigate those paths is to start at the beginning... reflect first upon the theology or philosophy that you were brought up with, read about it, practice it, ask questions. Then, read and learn about other theologies and if you feel comfortable, visit their places of worship. Go to lectures at philosophical societies; and explore the interaction of diverse cultures upon theology and philosophical pursuits. The more you open your mind to explore and investigate, you will discover that all theologies have a common base. As I said, your understanding of God will be a personal one, but you will no doubt discover that all theologies have a beauty that represents a God of love for all humanity. It's only mankind that turns theology into vehicles for war. If we, as individuals, can learn the inherent beauty of all religions, then perhaps mankind can become motivated by unconditional love and acceptance. Good luck on your quest!

If you are searching for God, good news! He has already found you! Just your desire is a gift from Him. The best place to start finding answers is in the bible, preferably Romans in the New Testament.
The reason you live is for His glorification, in your actions, deeds, and in your heart.
As far as being helpful in giving joy to others, it begins in your own heart. Peace and joy need to be rooted in your own being first, then you can begin to share it with others. One of the best things to remember is the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do to you. This is very simplistic, but as you gain knowledge and then wisdom in God through Christ, there are many more answers that deal specifically with your heart's needs.
Feel free to e-mail me if you would like to discuss this topic further! Good luck!

Try reading some books on the subject. The books on my 360 are a good place to start. We all ask this question at some point in our life, often it is repeated ad nauseum. The sooner you make a choice, the sooner you can get focused on living your life and having fun doing it! Blessings on your Journey!

if you are looking for god. for a reason to live. for advice on how to be helpful and generous and live a joyful life. i would suggest that you go to the bible. because that is where he is. start there. read it for yourself. let your own intuition guide you. you don't have to just believe whatever somone else tells you. find out for yourself.
maybe others may not like that answer or think that i am "bible-thumping". but you asked. and that is where i found it. and i think you can find it there too. if you really want to.
good luck!

Become blessed with being your grandchilds favorite person....
I have been so blessed and that has put my world into such a great perspective. Be sure to stay grounded....accept what is, no matter what... figure out quickly you are seeing you, your spouse, your child, the spouse, their family and more I'm sure.
Material things don't matter....it's about enjoyment, admiration and sharing the simple fact that that person is so important in your life...so much more to say..but, ask me if you need more..

You don't find God, God finds you. When it happens, listen.
Do your best to help people out any way you can without allowing them to take advantage of you. (Satanic influence.) God will guide you.
Blessings upon you!
