The state of spiritual development can, in my opinion, be seen as it manifests itself on the physical plane. Mankind, over the eons, has progressed or shifted from being a purely animalistic surivalist mode to an emotional thinking being. What we see now is the majority or the race focused on the emotional arena. Thus we see the diseases that result are mainly of an emotional origin. Most cancer is hypothesized to be a result of clearing or struggling through emotional dilemnas. We have seen a dramatic increase in heart disease. People are striving to open their hearts and are experiencing compassion and emathy to a greater degree and thus we see this manifest in the heart area, many times as blockages.
The human race has begun its journey into the mental realm, which is apparent through modern technology. As we're still working through the emotional plane, we now have added the trials and tribulations of mind and we see this as an increase in mental illnesses and psychosis.

Everything is part of our spiritual make-up. Metaphysically we are seeing more and more movies and books portraying the potentials of the human being. We're catching glimpses of the possibilities of what man is capable of doing.

As we overcome the obstacles on the physical, emotional and mental planes the race will become more intuitive and begin thinking more of the race as a whole instead of individual counterparts. Our glamours and illusions will gradually be seen past as light filters into the cobwebs of our spiritual being. When we recognize the oneness of existence the human race will be able to play a larger role in furthering the heaven on earth concept.
