It means you're absolutely normal. Many pregnant women dream that they give birth to all sorts of things . . . puppies, kittens. One of my friends dreamed that she gave birth to a grape and a submarine sandwich, and I dreamed that I gave birth to a bowl of goldfish. It's all normal. Don't worry, I am sure that your baby will not be a puppy. My son turned out to be a human boy and not a bowl of fish. All will be fine!

I don't think it's a bad sign at all. It seems like you're just aware that a baby is going to be a dependent little creature whose survival is going to be based purely on you and your nurturing. Also, as puppies grow, they become playful...as does a small child...The analogies could go on and on.
Overall, I say its a dream anticipating motherhood.
Of course, it also depends on your feelings about dogs.

Well, usually a dream's significance lies within the dreamer, but I'll try.
1. It could be about creating something you love
2. If you are pregnant, it could signify anxiety about the baby - that it will be "normal" and that you will be able to handle the responsibility of a child.
3. If you are not pregnant, it could signify wanting to have something that loves you unconditionally.
Or it could be something entirely different. I would recommend considering your own attitude towads preganancy and puppies and applying that to your own circumstances.

Perhaps you want to be someone who is loyal and in touch with your needs? You gave a birth to a dog in your dream because..maybe you want a child but you don't feel that you'll be responsible enough?

It means nothing. Before my first child was born I dreamed he looked like our cat. Half child half cat. He turned out okay.
