When I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen my doctor told me I could occasionally skip the placebo pills and start a new pack if I needed to miss my period. It was not Ortho Lo, but I'd imagine this would be true with any BC pills. If you keep taking them then your hormone levels won't drop and your body won't have a mentsrual cycle. It's not recommended to do this frequently, but once or twice a year shouldn't hurt.

There is also a new BC on the market called Seasonalle (hope I spelled it correctly) that let's you have a period only once every three months. Might be more convenient, but then you still have to plan around your period every third month as opposed to just skipping one when it's convenient for you. But if you have any doubts call your doctor.

DONT do it.. i tried that whole skip the green pills and start the new pack.. and trust me .. you dont want to- i had my period for like 2 weeks and was all screwed up after that. So just take the week with the period- if you want less periods get the new pill that gives you only 4 a year.

NO NO NO

If you want to skip a cycle, ask your doctor to change you meds to one of the new BC that has you only have cycle three four times a year

As far as I know, Ortho should work the same as the BC pills that have the same dose for every pill.
