that's not a good enough description. There are many types of beetles that devour plants..

Well Japanese Beetles are not tiny, So I don't think that you have Jap.Beetles.
You did not give us any description so we cannot help you.
This is what you do now, take a small jar with a good screw top, Put in a drop of alcohol or two and drop in the pest.
That will preserve the bug while you travel to garden centers for advice! Also, you can take it to the local county extension service.

They are probably Japanese beetles. They eat large holes in the leaves of the plant.
You can buy bait bags that attract the bugs. I think Ortho makes them. Place them, according to the direcitons on the package, in the yard away from the plants.

Sounds like Japanesse Beetle. Do they make the plants look like lace. Knock them off into a cup of water and then destroy them. All the traps just attract more.

i think they're japanese beetles, they attack mainly roses if that what ur talkin about, they're apparently real bad this year. I'm not gay or nething, lol, my mom just has the same thing with her stuff and went to this landscaping place to ask what it was. If that's what it is, they don't kill them they just eat the leaves and make it look like ****, but i'd still get rid of them, Good Luck!

I agree that it is likely Japanese (sp) beetles, simply because they are so bad this year, they won't kill your plants, but will make them so ugly, you almost wish they would die. They got several of my favorites plants and shrubs this year. DON'T try that thing they call a beetle bag that is supposed to trap them, it will draw every beele in the neighborhood, your neighbors will love it. LOL

Sounds like Japanese Beetles. They will kill your plants if you don't do something. My husband sprays liquid seven dust on them and it works. They die!

You need to identify the insect before deciding what to do. Collect one and take it to your local coop extension for correct identification.
