You can format a CD-R so that you can copy and paste onto it just like a floppy. Although it may not work with all burners. It is best to take a new CD with you.

Depends, if you use nero with multi-session burning than you can burn multiple times.
If you mean, erasing and then using the CD again, you will need a CD-RW.
I think it would be safer to go to Kinko's with a CD-rw, then you can always delete the file again from the CD and use the CD again.

If you write in "multisession mode" you can write multiple times on a CD-R but only if you have left over space. Once you've used up the entire space on the disc, you cannot add any more to it. You also cannot erase and rewrite like on a CD-RW.

WARNING: Most of the above is untrue.
You can add to a CD-R until it is full (700 MB). What you can't do is delete from it.
When you burn a CD-R you can elect to leave it "open" - meaning that more files can be added to it. Often the default is to "close" the disk, meaning as you've seen, that no more files can be added.

Hye curiousB,the No. of times u write to a CD-R is much dependent on what software u use to burn n how u do it. i.e when u allow ur c-dr to be multi-session, u leave room 4 more data 2 be written on it.if u burn it as a closed session then u only write on it once. Some softwares have this multisession functionality some don't.

you can continue writing on a CD-R by using multisession
but when the spaces of CD-R become full, you cannot write anymore. the number of multisession is limited
but on a CD-RW you can use multisession to continue writing on it and when it become full, erase it and start again. that mean infinite writing

have you ever checked the status of the device on top of issues panel, device, device supervisor? you have got deleted the driving force for the burner once you altered your registry. I advise attempting to place in the spectacular driving force for the CD burner. stable luck
