first of all, the computers shud be in network. u need two ethernet cards and a cross cable with RJ-45 connector. connect the two computers. if u have windows XP platform then everything is easy. establish the connection thru' the class C ip address. ping each other. if they ping, then open shared folders and drag and drop the desired file in that folder.

You should be able to just plug the cable into both computers and enable file sharing in the computer properties. Then in network Neighborhood the other computer should show up as long as the sharing in enabled properly!

goto the machine that doesn't have the files.. reach through the monitor, grab the file you want, and drag it back across the LAN cable.

several ways
1) use a small hub
or
2) use a null modem cable

transfer with netbui and remove tcp/ip untill your finished to keep it simple

network share one/both drives and then you'll have network accessible drives where you can just copy/paste files on both machines...
