Well, you're going to have to do what the rest of the mommies do and suck it up. I had to look after my 2 sons while I was puking with the flu. I took every precaution to make sure that they didn't get sick ( 2 months and 3) I washed my hands frequently.. and I mean frequently. I kept that no water antibacterial hand cleaner everywhere (Purell is the best) .. and tried to sleep as much as I possibly could.

Being a mother is hard work.. and you don't get sick days.

First of all, I would see a doctor unless you already know what's wrong and are being treated for it. I also would try to find someone who would be willing to take care of your baby until you're feeling better, at least to feed and change the baby, especially if what you have is contagious. Maybe, if you can't find someone to help with your baby, you could get one of those masks that you put over your nose and mouth to keep the germs away if you're contagious. I hope things work out for you!

Take care of yourself. Let the baby's father care for the child while you recover. Let him do most of the work so you can get better. If he's not around, get a friend to help out, or put the baby in daycare temporarily for a few hours a day so you can take some rest and get your strength back.

I hope you feel better. Good luck.

I got a horrible flu when my son Ezekiel was a couple months old and my husband was out of town, I could barely move off the couch, I had my babysitter (a high school student who was on break) come over and stay with me 24/7 until I got better. I also used that time to visit the doctor. My son never even got the flu from me.

See your doctor...you didnt really detail what you mean by "sick" so I can't really tell you what you should do but if you think your baby could be at risk because of your health or you think that having the baby has something to do with your health, see your GP as they will be able to determine whats wrong.

Depends on what you have. If it's something that requires an antibiotic, so see your doctor so you can start getting better. If it's just a cold (or other viral illness) wash (SCRUB!) your hands frequently and don't sneeze or cough directly onto your baby. If you have some help (mom, husband) call them in to help now. You need to rest as much as possible or else you'll delay your recuperation.

if its fever and flu and ur breasteeding, get some help but since the baby is already exposed, you should continue feeding as this would pass on to her your antibodies or else she'll get sick too, maybe even worse.

if its anything beyond that, i suggest ask your doctor if it should be treated in the same way as above.

If you live close to your parents have them take the baby for the weekend, this will insure you get well and your parents will love the extra time with their grandbaby.

Wear a dust mask around the baby so you can still nurture him/her. Better yet, ask your doctor for safe solutions.
