Yes this should be fine. Snails are compatible with most fish as long as the snail is bigger than the fishie's mouth. Guppies are MUCH smaller than your average goldfish. They also require a different temperature. You need to determine what type of fish you have so that you know what other types of fish its compatible with if you ever what it to have other fishie tank mates.
This website shows both male and female guppies, check it out and see if this is what you have
http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/livebearer_guppies/guppies_table.htm
FYI- If you do decide what you have is a guppy, but she to determine the sex before you add other guppy tank mates. They are live bearers and therefore are like the rabbits of the freshwater aquarium world.
If you still can't figure out what kind of fish it is, upload a picture to a website like photobucket.com, then post the url link and see what people on answers think it is.

o.k. Guppys dont usually grow more than 1-2" long. There very small, i'll give you a website with pictures of them. If this dosent work, ask whoever you bought it from what it is. Yes, guppys and apple snails can live together. But, if it reproduces, remove them because they take up too much oxygen, and they will kill your fish. If you only have one they can still have babies because it happened to me before, thats why i do not buy snails anymore. Here is the website: http://images.google.com/images?q=guppy+pictures&hl=en&lr=&sa=X&oi=images&ct=title If your guppies dont have those long fancy tails, there probably feeder guppies. Feeder guppies sometimes dont have fancy tails when older, but usually have colors. GOOD LUCK!!!
