Lately I have found myself being stumped by people who can use humor. Do I have to use humor to win an argument?

I have been subjected to ridicule by my weaker points. How can I avoid this ridicule?

There is no true research possible for my subject. How do I create an argument that allows for discussion?

Got more questions about questions coming shortly. Please help me construct my questionable questions thesis.

As much as I hate to say this, winning an argument has more to do with knowledge of your opponent than knowledge of the subject. It's kind of like taking a quiz. It is true that you can score well on the test by studying the entire book, but if you can narrow your study to the questions likely to be asked, you are going to do much better.

If I were going to debate someone, I'd make it my business to see them in action several times. Soon, I would develop a good success strategy to poke holes in their weak areas, and avoid their strengths. There is a classic example of this in our political history:

When Ronald Reagan was running for prez against Jimmy Carter during the final years of the Cold War era, he had a reputation of being an irresponsible hawk that would plunge us into nuclear war. Carter duly hammered away on this point, hoping to paint The Gipper into a corner. Instead, Reagan (totally rehearsed for this assault) came off as a rational, kindly , fatherly fellow; and the debate quickly became "Father Knows Best" verses "Hee-Haw". Now, bear in mind that Carter had an extensive resume' in nuclear weaponry from the Navy, but his facts were no match for the personal insight used in the Reagan camp to disarm him.

You must understand both sides in order to bring out the heavy artelery. You must understand what you are arguing about and why. In an arguement humor doesnt always win. Never use humor, opionion, emotion, or the opinion of someone else in an arguement. Only use strong facts and details. Opinions cant beat fact. In order to win an arguement you must have a strong and sterdy base and the base repersents your understanding on your subjest and use the bricks and build up. The bricks repersent each and every fact you use and the more details you bring with each fact the better advantage you will get over the other person.( so if you like have one fact and able to strech the details that is like 8 facts you have to get over your opponet with) Good luck!!!

In order to sucessfully argue a topic, you need to know both sides. If you are arguing against something.. you need to know the argument for it. You need to know everything you can. You simply let humor win an argument because you have no further points to make. The humor of the other person is your way out of the argument.
