I love ballroom.
I dance because it is great exersise without being boring and repetitive, it takes my midn off the stress with school, it is my best chance to look beatiful. I meet a lot of cool people throught the dance circle.
My favorite form is International Latin (Cha-cha, rumba, samba, jive, paso doble) and International Standard (Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Tango, Vienneeze Waltz).
I enjoyed salsa when I just started to learn dancing.
It is SOOOO much fun. Find a studio near you at www.ballroomdancers.com

Dancing is a very good form of excercise and also keeps you happy and jolly.Swaying along with the music is very romantic too.My favorites are the Vienna waltzes and the tango from Argentina. Of course you may have guessed that I'm not a young "chicken", by the kind of dance I prefer but I ilked the disco time too and in my younger years I lived in a small town and we had square dancing which was a lot of fun and yes; exercise too! I can't dance those dances anymore because I had a stroke ten years ago and my movements are not balanced, but I love watching people dancing, especially the Tango. I went through the rock'n'roll phase too and I just can't learn those new dances in line. It was so much better when you were dancing with your partner. Some of them are very nice and How I miss being able to participate!
If you have the opportunity, do try it and you will love it! And you don't need to be an expert to enjoy it. Ball room dancing is beautiful!
Good luck with your future dancing lessons. And Don't wait until you can't do it anymore.

I dance because I feel good both physically and mentally when I do. I gain grace and coordination as well as a sense of musicality. It's an outlet that lets me express things I may not even be able to say with words. My favorite form is raqs sharqi (or bellydance in common terms). I also enjoy many other styles of Middle Eastern dances as well as tap, jazz, and ballet to a lesser degree. I love all dances but don't neccessarily know how to perfom them. I love watching Indian dances but can't really do them. Watching is great but actually dancing is the best.

First off a person can not dance if they do not have an ear for the beat so to speak. I see so many people black, white who can not dance. They get out on the floor and just are so off beat to the song. You either have an ear for it or you dont, in order to find the rhythm of the song. Since I was a child I was very lucky to be able to find the beat of the song weather it be fast or slow. When I go out and that music plays. All the ones who think they can dance see me move and they stop and stair to only copy me. You got to listen to the music, get your adrenaline going and just let your body go. Some people try so hard they make themselves out to look like fools.

dancing, to me, is a way of really connecting with the music I am listening to. There are different ways of dancing with the same result of connecting to the music. I think dance should be an attempt to connect with whatever music is being played. The better you are at dancing, the more a part of the music you feel.

Freeing...a great stress relief. It has been a part of my life for over 25 years. My favorite form is ballet but with all of my training, it has made all other forms of dance much easier.

I did 15 year classical ballet, which is....nice!
Five years of jazz, modern and contemporary, which are exciting...
but you just can't beat tap and salsa for properly showing off, which is what it's really all about!!!!
Top tip - when you do start to learn, try not to think - it makes remembering routines and steps a heck of a lot easier!!
Hope you love it - whichever you decided to try first!!
