i have this really disturbing back pain, it feels like i am literally carrying the whole world on my shoulders, it feels like carrying a heavy backpack. my mom tried using a massager to "melt" away those stiff muscles, it would feel better for a while, but come back the next day.

i never realized, i've been having this kind of back/shoulder pain for years already. i cannot even remember what it feels like not to have a stiff shoulder.

any recommendations? my mom and sister points out that i always rotate my shoulders (i don't even know im doing it -- i guessi do it subconsciously). how do i make the pain go away?

Growing pains are normal for many teens. You need to be aware of how straight you stand. Slouching can cause back pain. Have a talk with your physical education teacher and maybe s/he can help you with some good back strengthening exercises.

Next time your back hurts, lay on the floor, bring both knees to the chest for a minute or two, then with one leg on the floor out straight bend the other knee and the straighten that leg, reach to the ceiling. Change legs. And when you sleep put a small pillow between your knees, and lay on your side with your knees slightly bent. This opened the vertibrae. And make sure when you are sitting that you sit UP, not slouching which puts major stress on the spine.

Good luck

You mentioned a backpack. Are you using one? Studies are showing that many adolescents are, one that are very heavy, so they walk sloped forward.

If the pain continues, hopefully your Mother can send you to the family doctor.

change your posture..make sure you back and shoulders are straight..heating pad every night for at least a couple of weeks..there is also an exercise..stand with your feet apart, put your hands on your hips and bend back as for as you can and hold it..do this a couple of times a day...also chiropractors..and even acupuncturists can fix back problems.
