This is a game where you get 4 numbers

(Per the game - any given 4 numbers are suppose to equal 24).

They have to equal 24 by adding (+), minusing ( - ), Multiplying ( * ), or dividing ( / )

I'm stuck on 8, 9, 10, 11

I can not get them to equal 24... I've been working on it for 3 days now.. Can anyone out there help me find the answer ?

Thanks

Before anyone cries FOUL!
I know I am stretching the rules but...
11-10 * (square root of 9) * 8 = 24.

or 1 * 3 * 8 = 24
Hey it was a thought.
:P

John - you can only use each number once.

Are you sure it's supposed to work? The 24 game does not work on EVERY set of 4 numbers. Were you playing the actual game and this came up? Do you know how many steps it is supposed to have? The closest I've come in 22. I'll keep at it though.

I keep coming with decimal fractions that are awfully close to 24, and also got a 25 ( (11+9)*10/8 ), but can't get an even 24. Do you know for a fact that it's solvable?

I'm not sure about the rules, but if I understand right:

(8 +10) / 9 * 11 + (8 +10) / 9 =24
18 / 9 * 11 + 18 / 9 = 24
2 * 11 + 2 = 24
22 + 2 = 24

Thats my best guess.

No solutions.

P.S. I tried to solve it myself first. I'm getting the same results puckstorm. 23.56 and some others.
