(1) The Hotel Russell, located near the British Museum:
Westernized/Americanized rooms - Comfortable rooms with double beds (big for two people) and personal bathroom, and wonderful staff. Great hotel to stay the first few nights in London (when you want to recoop from the flight). This hotel is owned by a international corporation with hotels throughout the UK (namely The Royal York Hotel in York, UK).

(2) Regent Palace Hotel, located in Piccadilly Circus:
Great location and cheaper than the Regency Palace. If you reserve this hotel, be sure to request a room with a bathroom otherwise it will be dorm room style.

It depends on how much you want to spend.

If money is no option, then try either the Sanderson or the St Martins Lane Hotel.
