Go to Control Panel and double click Network Connections. Right click your connection and click Properties. You should then see Client Services for Netware. Click it and then click Uninstall. If you are not using a Novell network or IPX/SPX, you will probably not need this.

Do this....

1. Click on Start --> Control Panel --> Network Connections
2. A window pops up that shows you your available network connections.
3. Choose the main one (if you have more than one)
4. Right click on the connection, and choose Properties
5. A window titled "Local Area Connection Properties" pops up
6. On the General tab, you should see a list of items that utilize this connection
7. Browse through the list and take out (uncheck) anything that is of Novell/Netware. Leave (checked) only these protocols; Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), QoS Packet Scheduler, Client for Microsoft Networks, File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.
8. Click OK and restart your PC.
9. You should now be able to use Fast Switching.

With fifteen years of computer experience in large and small companies; I'd guess you need to reinstall/uninstall client services for netwear. (btw, isn't it spelled netware?)
