Do you have a bouncy seat? I am a former lead infant/toddler teacher and current in-home daycare provider and in my experience many babies that have this problem are most comfortable in a bouncy seat because it allows them to sit up comfortably and play or sleep. They are also nice because the covers are usually a lot easier to slip off into the wash than car seat covers in case she spits up on it. That said, it is still perfectly safe to let her stay in her car seat as long she is strapped in at all times. I hope this is helpful and wish you the best of luck with your little one!

When I was on maternity leave, I had my daughter in the car seat for hours at a time while I pushed her around in the snap n go stroller. She slept really well that way. The other thing you might want to consider if you want her to sleep in the crib is a wedge that goes under the crib sheets and will elevate her head.

If it works and shes happy sleeping there then thats the thing to do..A friend of mine had to do the same thing when her daughter was born because she couldnt breath when she was laid flat on her back and the car seat was the ONLY place she could sleep for about a month after she was born it ended up at 2 1/2yrs old she was diagnosed with asthma and had it at birth but the doctors never paid enough attention to diagnose it before then....i would however as she gets older try to adjust her to the crib as some experts say the sooner theyre in their own bed in their own room the better...my son went into his own room at about 2mo. old and i have NO problems putting him to bed at almost 3yrs old he feels comfortable and safe in his room not being afraid of the dark and hangs out for a while before he gets up in the morning

While I am answering your question, my 3 month old daughter is sleeping in her carseat since 2 hours ago. MY baby is just the same that she likes to sleep in carseat than her crib. I found out that she can sleep much longer in the carseat than the crib. My friend said it is because the carseat give her a more protected feeling, which has something around her from head to left and right. Our pediatrician said it's okay but the only problem is overheating at her back. In the very hot summer (like couple weeks ago in our place - California), her back is wet when we pick her up from her carseat. It's much hotter to sleep in carseat than in the crib. But I would suggest to put her to her crib at least at her night sleeping time. Your daughter will need to learn to sleep through the night soon (since she's a month and half now). You want to learn to sleep through the night in her crib but not the carseat! =) good luck!

Sure. My older son was colicky as an infant. After a non-stop screaming fit for two hours, I'd take him out for a ride in the car. Every time we did this, he'd fall asleep almost instantly. I would bring him back inside and place him (carseat and all) right in the crib and leave him there. After what I'd just been through, you better believe I wasn't going to take him out of his car seat and risk waking him up!! He was fine...no problems from it. :)

I would be careful--not only do babies do most of their growing while sleeping, that means they should be flat for growing, plus I had a neighbor who let her son sleep in his car seat all the time, and he ended up with the back of his head flat because he never rolled around or did anything in his sleep. It's good for them to learn to stretch out. Just be patient, like my son always takes naps in his bouncy chair because it's almost like a car seat but it's a little more flat, but when we are home and it's time to nap, he naps in his crib or somewhere flat and safe because it's just better for him.

My son was a priemie, born at 4.8 oz, and he spit up alot in his sleep, My pediatrician recommended he sleep in his car seat, in an upward position. He preferred it too, and thats what we did. He slept in it at night.Once he could roll on his stomach we changed him to his crib. It worked great. He is now 19 months and sleeps in his own room in a toddler bed. It didn't effect him at all. Good Luck, also try a bouncer, or swing with vibrations.

We took our daughter from l. a. to San Fransisco whilst she became into 6 months previous (and returned whilst she became into 18 months, yet site visitors became into so undesirable it took over 12 hours each and every way). She did purely high-quality. extra advantageous than we did, i think. notwithstanding, we did would desire to stop each and every hour or 2, each and every time she wasn't asleep, to get out and enable her stretch slightly, have some nutrients, get a sparkling diaper, p.c.. out a sparkling toy, etc. She keeps at age 3 to be a brilliant customer on journeys of comparable length. i do no longer think of there is any thank you to renowned how your newborn would do different than attempting it. maximum father and mom i comprehend have stated their infants do rather lots, so i think of the percentages are very stable. If it does not bypass properly, the worst which will happen is an exceedingly long day. Be looking out for any relax aspects, so he can run around, and additionally for IHOP eating places. We knew as quickly as we observed an IHOP that there would be changing tables and a gamble to get a rapid chew to consume; they are very kin friendly ascertain that while you're staying at a inn that they comprehend you would be arriving late. a newborn in the motor vehicle makes that rather possibly. p.c.. a bag of well-liked toys that don't have small aspects to fall in all places. Toy autos, toy cellular telephones, musical toys, and easy-weight-up toys are all stable. nutrients additionally acts as a brilliant entertainment, so carry lots of small snacks. the 1st time, we packed the motor vehicle with adequate stuff for a month, and only later found out that we did no longer would desire to hold easily each and every thing with us. I say p.c.. each and every thing if that makes you sense comfortable and supply your self lots of time, and function a brilliant holiday!

Perhaps you could try weaning her so to speak. Sit her in the chair in her crib. Then later perhaps she will begin to warm up to it. One reason she may not sleep as soundly is because the seat give a sense of being held. Bundle her tightly and make sure she's warm, and put her in the bed.
Hope this helps.

I've had babies that loved to sleep in the car seat, I don't see a big problem with it as long as you get them out as soon as they wake up, if mine fall asleep in the car I leave them in it in the living room until they wake up.
