Dual booting or dual-booting is the act of installing multiple operating systems on a computer, and being able to choose which one to boot when switching on the computer power. The program which makes dual booting possible is called a boot loader.
For example, new Linux users migrating from the Microsoft Windows platform will usually dual boot, allowing them to try the new OS without losing the functionality and preferences of their existing setup. This is accomplished by using a boot loader that can boot more than one operating system, such as NTLDR, LILO, or GRUB.

Yep. Done it before.
Install Windows first
Partition drive in half
Install OS #2 on the empty half.
I had Windows 98 dual booted with Mandrake Linux for several years, until I got my XP based laptop. I hate Win98, couldn't take the constant crashing so I turned the computer into a dual boot system.

Yes, I have 98, 2000, XP (2 copies) and even Redhat in my machine.
I am telling Requirements for Windows OSes - Your C drive (primary partition) must be in the format which can be accessed by all OSes. If you need 98, your C drive should be in FAT format. Else if you are using only NT based OSes (WinNT, 2000 or XP) you can go for NTFS. You can have multiple copy of same OS also. Like one XP for devlopment and one XP for browsing. Just make sure that you have enough partitions in you rHardDrive. Say install 2000 or an XP in C first. Later Install XP in D Drive and go on.

Sure, you can have 2 or more operation system on your computer.
You can directly installed another OS, with partition your Harddisk, but one OS must in hidden partition at one time. Use boot loader to make it easy.
Or you can use Virtual PC, you can play linux in your Windows OS, but it takes a lot of memory so your pc become slower.
Have a nice try

yup
you can do that
suppose you want to install windows 98 and windows xp
now you need to have 2 hard disk partitions c and d.
you can do that in a single partition but having 2 partitions you can manage them better.
first you install windows 98 suppose in c drive.
now than you can install xp in d drive.
you shouldnt install windows 98 after installing xp. as there may be a risk of curropting both the os's.
when you start windows after installing the 2 operating sys's. you would pe presented with the list of 2 os when you boot up.
u can select the one you want to use then.
