Somebody didn't like your question and reported you for abuse to Yahoo! I believe it is an automatic system that once you are reported, they send an email regardless if the email was offensive or not. There isn't anyone from Yahoo! truly policing these boards otherwise half the stuff wouldn't be allowed.

Somebody could have reported you for posting a "non-answer" (since technically it did not answer the question "where") or, more likely, for being imflammatory or non-serious (since Palestine technically exists in a geographical sense, whatever your political views are). I can understand why this was reported, in the sense that the person understood that Palestine does exist (geographically) and simply wanted to know where it was located. It's a hindrance to look up a new answer only to find that it doesn't answer the question asked. However, I certainly agree with the person above that there are much worse infractions which actually deserve - rather than merely warrant - a report. I suggest in the future answering the question as asked, and then inserting your political opinions if you wish to do so, so that they can't technically report you.
EDIT: As a sidenote, I do not ascribe to the belief that Palestine does not exist.

Yahoo tells you why you received the violation, so stop with the "...I don't know, I don't know...
It sounds like you addressed the question, but you didn't answer it, and that's a violation. The poster didn't ask if you believe Palestine exists or not. The poster asked where Palestine is. Your answer didn't address the question.
My violation happened after someone asked the longest question I've ever seen here. It just went on and on. Then, the person added additional details - twice! My answer was something like "...I was going to answer your question, but reading it drained all my energy - I have to take a nap now..." or something like that. It surprised me that I received a violation for it.

It means someone reported you for a stupid reason. This happened to me two days ago. Question: How do I get rid of a Baby's diaper rash? Answer: I don't know, but I just got over the 800 mark in points, thanks! she reported me for that!!!! You can challenge the report through customer care, which I did. I gave Yahoo! a nice long email, and got an email from them saying their investigating it. I'm expecting an answer today. U should try it too. Call the jerk's bluff and take em down!

wow, i really don't know why because that is a normal person. But you can always appeal to the violations by writing back to them. Maybe someone thought the questions was insulting and requested a violation to you.

No biggie, Yahoo just zaps emails all over the place sometimes. And bored simple minded folks on here like to report unsubstantiated abuse to amuse themselves.

Don't take it too seriously. Yahoo's violation system is pretty flaky. I got a violation mail myself and it didn't make sense.
You're not the first one.

Perhaps you should have qualified your answer: I'm not aware of any up-to-date atlas that maps the area of Palestine, but I'm sure plenty of Arabs would tell you exactly where it starts and ends.

I bet there is no one on here who has not gotten one of those letters. There are some people on here who are so bored they think they need to police and report everyone.
